
Julio Aranovich, PhD (Materials Sciences, Stanford University), left academia in 1980 to join the nascent Silicon Valley industry. He started in R&D in Hewlett Packard Labs, (Palo Alto, California) followed by being a Director at Dynamit Nobel Silicon (Novara, Italy and Sunnyvale, California). This work culminated at Applied Materials (Santa Clara, California) where, over the years, he held General Management positions of increasing responsibility in various divisions including Manufacturing, Corporate R&D, Quality & Reliability, and Human Resources; until he retired in 2003 as Group Vice President. During that period, Dr. Aranovich also served on various start-up boards and held positions, offices, and practices in a large variety of countries in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Since his retirement from the industry, Dr. Aranovich has been the founder and owner of various major agricultural companies in Argentina. He has been very active in NGOs focused on the Civil Society, most recently founding La Voz Publica and Chequeado.com in Argentina to promote the improvement of the Public Discourse. In 2006, Dr. Aranovich joined the Center for Narrative Studies, School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution, George Mason University as Research Professor. He is a co-founder of Corent.
